Amish Barn Raising (continued)

An Amish barn north of Lancaster, PA burned to the ground on Friday, September 25th.  Construction on the new barn began almost immediately.  We showed pictures of the construction progress three days ago.

Here is what the new barn looked like yesterday, only one week after the original barn burned down:

And here is what it looked like today, only 8 days after the fire:

It’s almost impossible to even have some free time to surf the world wide web this era with this economy going on up and down for certain, I was planning to get some money on credit but the banks are not so willingly with us this days. Anyhow, with all this usual dilemmas that lead to anything good at least I came across a loveble blog.

The author of http://www.lancasterpa.com has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: There is always someone more intelligent than you (and they will NEVER call when you do tech support). Thanks for the info.

  46. We are not Amish ourselves. We will look into your questions and get back with you..

  47. I don’t know that the Amish here recycle barn materials. You might contact the Amish near you. Perhaps the Mennonite Information Center could help. Find them online at http://www.MennoniteInfoCtr.com.

  48. C. C. says:

How fun to find you! I have been enthralled with the Amish people for years; the service they give to one another and the character they display is truly God honoring. I feel they are the spiritual standard for all of us who consider ourselves Christian because they live their beliefs and are true to what they believe (even though it takes an outward “out-dated” form). I try really hard not to stare…but I do so wonder what each individual is like when you see a Mennonite (we don’t have Amish in New Mexico that I know of) family in Wal-Mart. I am going to read all your blog and come back and see you again!

  50. Lindsay says:

    Hi,

I was wondering what the best way to contact the Amish would be? I have a barn on my property that I am looking to take down and thought that they may be interested in the materials.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
